Blogtober '23 - Day 8.

I'd love to tell you that it's been wonderfully exciting here today, but I can't. We don't even seem to have the same number of birds visiting the feeders as we did a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps other people have started to feed them now that it's Autumn?

We have had some lovely sunshine today and some pretty clouds, and a surprising number of plane trails which would hang around for ages.

We did have a pudding today after our Sunday Dinner (BBQ flavour Rib Bones and Mash Potatoes) which doesn't happen too often, but was very nice! - Shop bought Apple Pies and Double Cream! No, not as nice as home made Apple Pie but tasty and not too sweet.

This evening we watched the first episode of a new murder mystery series being shown on the Drama Channel called, "Mrs. Sidhu Investigates", starring Meera Syal. It wasn't bad actually, maybe a little tame and slow, but it was only the first episode and it might pick up pace a bit now Mrs. Sidhu is on speaking terms with the shows main copper.

I have found a blog post that is still just a draft rather than a published piece - it's funny, I could have sworn I had pressed the Publish button on it - and luckily most of the pictures it needs are already uploaded so with any luck I should be able to post that sometime this week.

    Hope you've had a good weekend.πŸ‘‹πŸ˜

  1. We had to stop feeding the birds as there are lots of crows and magpies where we live and they were chasing all the small birds away, trashing the bird feeders and generally making a big mess. And because Winwick is close to the fields, all that seed on the ground was attracting other visitors that did not have wings ... I'm hoping that we grow enough plants with berries to keep them going for now and then the birds will have to rely on the neighbours! :) xx

    1. The corvids can be a nuisance but they can usually be deterred by constant shooing and if necessary, caging the feeders. We've had rats at times, I imagine everyone does at some point, and I'm afraid to say the only way to deal with is poison and traps. It may not be nice, but it is the only way. We currently have a Grey Squirrel that comes almost daily which is nice, but she does nibble our nuts away like no-ones business!πŸ˜„
