Blogtober - Post 20!

    I have to be quick because my battery is about to die!

    I chose a new book to read and it's this one,

    I haven't read any of Robert E. Howard's work before but I am of course familiar with the Conan Films. This is a collection of his sword and sorcery stories and from what I've read so far it seems quite good! I have another collection of his writing which I think is more like supernatural tales and ghost stories and the like.

    In completely unrelated news, I tried some Horlicks earlier. I ain't sure I like that! Gosh it's a bit icky! I may have made it wrongly though so it might be worth another try!

    I think Horlicks is an acquired taste and it's not one that I ever acquired. I used to love Ovaltine when I was little which I think was the alternative - ooh, I haven't thought about that for years!

      I'm sure we had Ovaltine a few years ago and I'm not sure it's any better! I wonder what Bovril is like now? Can you still get the chicken one?

    You would think that with it being a Sunday, I would have had plenty of opportunities to post my intended Blogtober post. But no. I haven't even touched a computer today until now because there always seemed to be something else to do! And I don't suppose any of it was particularly important. Ever have days like that?     So instead of that post I'm going to do a Sunday Waffle. A quick ramble about the day and anything else that pops into the noggin as I type. Minus the swear words. Probably.       It was pretty grim when I got up, it looked like it had rained🌧️ all night, but the sun soon came out☀️ and it was bright till about early afternoon when the clouds started gathering. Somewhere across the road someone had lit a garden fire, smoke blowing up the road so at least this time we didn't get the stink of it.🔥     We did have a fab dinner at lunch time! Blogtober - Post 19! ❓ 🪝 📖 🌵

     Hello! I'd like to start by asking a few questions to those of you who have been using silicon-handled hooks longer than I have.     In the last few days I have notice that the hook I'm using most has developed a weird ickieness to the handle. It's not sticky or rough, just not right. My others don't feel like this. I even washed it the other day and if anything it made it slightly worse.      Could this be a reaction to the hand-cream I use in the evening to lessen the roughness of my fingers? Is there a way of fixing the issue, and is there a best way of storing and caring for this style of hook? Comments and solutions would be most appreciated.😀     I finished reading "The Tears Of The Salamander" Monday night, and tonight I will start reading something else. I'm just not sure what yet, it may end up a point and grab situation. Whatever it is I probably won't have read it before and I'll let you know what I choose.      Yesterday I mentio

Blogtober '23 - Day One. 👋😀

       Blogtober is upon us And I really have to say, I'm not sure I can manage A new post everyday. Typing here and typing there It can be quite a chore, Finding summat interesting And trying not to bore. What with edit this and copy that And insert image here, It's like reading a crochet pattern Whose instructions aren't quite clear.
