Blogtober '23 - Day 21.

    I got up this morning with the best of intentions to be quite productive blog-wise. I was going to write a post about the books I've been reading this year because I remembered this was something that I mentioned a few times last Blogtober. I was going to spend some time on my GSD squares but, I actually spent half the day feeling quite unwell. Not just mentally for a change, but physically as well. I know my health isn't as good as it perhaps could/should be but I don't think I've ever felt quite this bad. And for all I know it is largely anxiety based. So... I'll do the book thing another day and today I will mention that something else I've started that I mentioned yesterday.

    This was going to be a square for my Granny Square Day project, but instead of working 6 Treble clusters in the centre little numpty-boy here put in 7. They were good one though, so I decided to continue and make a circle, with the intention of making a drum stool seat cover.

    Looks alright don't it?

    But since this photo was taken I've been working on the next round, and it isn't going so well. It's beginning to ruffle around the edge and I've tried two different ways of doing it. I can't say that I've had much luck with Mandala type things, so if any one of you can give me some advice on how to make the next round work, please let me know in the comments below.

Blotober - Post 2!

    You would think that with it being a Sunday, I would have had plenty of opportunities to post my intended Blogtober post. But no. I haven't even touched a computer today until now because there always seemed to be something else to do! And I don't suppose any of it was particularly important. Ever have days like that?     So instead of that post I'm going to do a Sunday Waffle. A quick ramble about the day and anything else that pops into the noggin as I type. Minus the swear words. Blogtober - Post 19! ❓ 🪝 📖 🌵

     Hello! I'd like to start by asking a few questions to those of you who have been using silicon-handled hooks longer than I have.     In the last few days I have notice that the hook I'm using most has developed a weird ickieness to the handle. It's not sticky or rough, just not right. My others don't feel like this. I even washed it the other day and if anything it made it slightly worse.      Could this be a reaction to the hand-cream I use in the evening to lessen the roughness of my fingers? Is there a way of fixing the issue, and is there a best way of storing and caring for this style of hook? Comments and solutions would be most appreciated.😀     I finished reading "The Tears Of The Salamander" Monday night, and tonight I will start reading something else. Interlude -Summer.

     I'll be honest, things are not great here at the mo'.       Quite apart from the fact that these last few hot weeks have turned my hands and fingers into wet and clammy nightmares, we've all had Covid. Yeah, after all this time, we finally get the bloody thing. The daft thing is my parents have been getting their boosters - the last one not long ago - whereas I haven't had one since the end of... 2021?, and if anything I fared better and have gotten over it quicker than they have! That's not to say any of us are exactly "right" at all: Mother still sounds like she has a cold, but doesn't, Father still has an awful bloody cough which is driving us all mad, and we're all still quite tired and head-achey.      And then there's the "other stuff" which I'm loath to go into because there really isn't much chance of any of that changing any time soon, if ever, and you never know who might end up reading all this.
